If you’re a true surfer and just crave the adrenaline rush of huge waves, here at Avellanas beach you will experience waves that can reach 18 feet; and perfect breaks that draw famous professional wave riders from all over the world.

Once you have seen what Avellanas has to offer, you can visit different Guanacaste beaches to experience even more action, here we have a brief list that may interest you:

*La Purruja, a though reef break where most of the experimented surfers prefer to go during the rainy season.

*Also you can find another attractive place for experimented surfers named Little Hawaii, with long and big waves that will make you immediately fall in love.

*Another surfing spot near Avellanas that you can easily travel to is called El Palo; this fascinating area presents really challenging beach breaks that comes from the left and the right side forming incredible barrels.

For those who prefer to have another kind of tours adventures, you can find many other magnificent places that will capture your attention.

A Great example of this is Palo Verde National Park, which is one of the greatest natural paradises and one of the reasons as to why Costa Rica is famous around the world. At this National Park you can experience how it feels to be in one of the few remaining untouched pieces of tropical dry forest in the world, with a great variety of exuberant plants, trees and amazing animals.

You can also visit another magical place in Guanacaste; this place is called Las Baulas Marine National Park where you can see the big Leatherback Sea Turtles, and witness one of the most amazing natural events in the world, as this great animals come out of the sea to put their eggs in the tropical sands.

Wilder and more tempted is Ostional Wildlife Refuge, another pleasant area to relax and spend a good time in harmony with the landscape and the nature. This place is well known for another category of turtles called Olive Ridley or Lora. Ostional Wildlife Refuge gained a lot of importance among the natural conservation parks, as it was discovered that this was another place for the marine turtles to lay their eggs.
